The Aether, an alternate dimension in Minecraft

that adds a counterpart to the Nether. It's a heavenly place, full of peaceful, floating, islands which would surely surpass the wonders of the Nether. But is this just a dreamer's idea? Will this ever be possible? Well, with the cooperative efforts of three Minecraft modders ( Kingbdogz, Kodaichi, and Shockah ) it may soon be released to the Minecraft community.

"The Aether, [is] a celestial realm found in outer limits of the atmosphere. The Aether is what you could call the "antipole" of the Nether. The Nether is a network of desolate, fiery caverns filled with bloodstained Cobblestone and sticky Soulsand; it lies beneath the very soil of our Minecraft world. The Aether, on the other hand, is a collection of floating plains and islands, all connected together to create a breathtaking dimension of the skies. Even during the night, the Aether is still very brightly lit, and a normal day in the Aether is the equivalent of three days on the surface."

With the Aether comes many new blocks and mobs in amounts that have not been attempted on a mod before. The blocks are used in such a way that the depth of this mod is one that will completely change the way mods will be thought of in the future. This will add many, many, new aspects to the game including: new tools, new ways of transportation, magical items with special abilities, and much more. Hopefully, the Aether will open up new ideas for Mojang that they can add to the final game. The Aether is not yet finished and it is not definite ( by my knowledge ) that it will even be finished, but make sure to keep this number one on your watch list!

Some of the coolest mobs added in the Aether:

Aerwhales!

A Moa! ( You can use it as a mount! )

Swets!

for this article has only given a small amount of the features included in the Aether. I give my highest praise to the Aether and hope that it will be finished soon!
