Minecrafters with a musical bent have reason to rejoice. Now you can take a break from busting up blocks by practicing your harp, guitar, or drum. Using signs to write out your notation, Musical Instruments 1.0 by Cryect lets you recreate some of your favorite tunes, or even compose knew ones, as long as you don't mind being limited to two octaves, and having them play back at 120 beats per minute.

Now it's only a matter of time before we see a slew of YouTube videos showcasing Minecraft inspired interpretations of our favorite theme songs. "This is my rendition of A Whole New World, from my favorite Disney classic, Aladdin."

We can hardly wait. (Don't you dare close your eyes!)

The mod is currently only available in single player, though the potential for Minecraft garage bands inmultiplayeris truly staggering. Maybe the next thing you'll see on the forums is a band looking for a killer harpist?

You can download the mod here. We're pretty sure if Mozart was alive today, this would be his method of choice.
