OK, so one of the things I love about Minecraft is generating new maps to explore. Sometimes I will delete the map until I find a good one. Once, I found a nice one but I accidently deleted it by deleting the .minecraft folder. Eh, not big deal but still... sad. Once in a while, a user will get a new map that is astounding. The overhangs, the arches, the connected paths, and waterfalls are just a few things that make the beauty of a pure map. I'm not to say that all maps generated are awesome, but some are bad. I hate it when I'm spawned in the middle of nowhere on sand. Or when I don't see a mountain reaching to the highest depths of the clouds.
At the end of the day, it all comes down to this. If you generate a map and it's awesome. Take pictures, save it, or make use of it. Good maps can't go and be wasted. I mean, it's like someone throwing money in a fire! Alright. enough blabbing and onto the showcase I found tonight!
Decided to start a new game last night. I let mapgen tried a few times until I got something interesting, and boy did I ever :D. For a hint of what's coming, the subject is a reference of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.
There's actually no natural way to get up Airship, and the terrain is way to gorgeous to terraform a path to the top. So I use cartograph to find an internal cave that I only had to chip a couple of blocks to get to and which led to the top.
I've attached the save, if anyone is interested.
Unfortunately, the spawn point on the saved map is notanywhere near those places. I looked and I tried. My guess is that hewantedto look for more spots to gander at, got lost, and logged out. Either way, it's still pretty cool! But on the bright side, you can explore the map yourself, by downloading it!
