Minecarts that last forever! Woohoo!

Minecarts that last forever! Woohoo!

OK, imagine you're building your creation and decided to build another a few blocks aways. Then to get between those two, you decide to add a minecart track because it's fast, stylish, and hip! Now, your minecart track can only so far, so if you're plan fails -- you're screwed. About this time you're wishing someone invented an "never-ending" Minecart. OK stop wishing because it's here! Meet the AutoCart by birdcloud!

This creation is one long-needed. Sure, we can power our minecarts via coal-engines. But that just takes forever and doesn't look as cool with one cart driving you everywhere! Now, I don't know about you, but I'm already using this. I'm building elusive and creative tracks already (see picture above)! If I were, I'd get it and try it out.

But, from the man himself, birdcloud has a few words:

I love watching videos of the ingenious arrangements of tracks and switches and boosters that compensate for the (rather severe) limitations of the powered minecart. But in my own game, I just can't be bothered. Hate boosters! Hate wasting good minecarts & track! So I dove into those decompiled brambles, and made this mod. It makes carts like electric trams, all very videogamey, no more need for accelerators or slopes even. Just lay track straight from A to B and relax.

  • Removes "friction" & "gravity" from cart physics: carts move only after pushed and then accelerate to top speed instantly & stay at it forever.

  • Adds punch control to carts: punch a moving cart to stop it, punch a stopped cart from inside it to go in the direction you're facing. (Punch again to stop). Punch a stopped cart from outside of it to break it down as usual.

  • Automatically puts you inside newly placed carts. It was too easy to accidentally push new carts and then have to watch them take off very quickly down the rail and not come back. This feature is optional. If you feel confident that you will always put carts at least one full block away from your person, then opt out by only copying oc.class and not jo.class.

I'm eager for any & all feedback. Hope you enjoy it!

The video should, if not by now, already inspired you at least to give it a go. What have you got to lose? Time, you say? You're already losing it. Now go and download it! You'll thank me and birdcloud!
